Job description

  • The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Union College is seeking candidates for an open position of Adjunct Instructor in Arabic to teach Basic Arabic 1 course this Fall 2026.
  • The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Union College is seeking candidates for an open position of Adjunct Instructor in Arabic to teach Basic Arabic 1 course this Fall 2026.
  • We are seeking candidates with at minimum a Master’s degree in Arabic or a closely-related field, experience in teaching college-level courses, and native or near-native proficiency in Arabic.
  • The course is taught in person, on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule, with 65-minute class sessions, over a 10-week term, with an additional week for scheduled exams.
  • The instructor is required to schedule 3 office hours per week.
  • The Fall term begins on September 9, 2026 and ends on November 17th.
  • Adjunct courses are paid at a flat rate of $5,650 per course.
  • Interested candidates are asked to send a CV and any other information about Arabic language teaching experience (i.e.,sample syllabi, sample assignments) to mllchair@union.edu.
  • We will begin evaluating submissions on July 20th on a rolling basis.
