Job description

Position Summary

  • Responsible for provision of sports medicine, rehabilitation care of the injured athlete. Promote healthy behaviors, build stronger relationships and increase accessibility to community projects. Provides instruction to community allied health providers in emergency care of the injure athlete. Travel is an extensive part of this role. Principal Accountabilities Standards of Performance: Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality Education Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, or Physical Education required Masters of Science in H.P.E.R. preferred Licenses and Certification
  • Illinois Athletic Trainer license
  • BLS Experience and Skills Technical Experience: 3 years Must have strong computer background skills. Role Specific Responsibilities Provides written reports for monthly statistics to Sports Coordinator. Communicates with, but not limited to Safety, HR, physician, Case Manager, Insurance Adjuster, therapy provider, coach, AD and injured client/athlete to facilitate efficient and appropriate services. Assess and develop health and wellness services for outreach clients. Performs educational sessions for outreach clients on injury prevention, nutritional plans and emergency care Implements preventative/early intervention care and instruction for all athletes Provides education and training to allied health providers in the community for the proper transport and care of the injured athlete. Travels with the athletic team to all events as required. Athletic Training: Performs thorough sports medicine assessment Athletic Training: Develops appropriate Plan of Care Athletic Training: Provides care to the athlete during organized athletic events Athletic Training: Documentation is accurate, complete and timely Athletic Training: Assists with coverage during staff shortages and periods of high census/workload Athletic Training: Implements preventative care instructions/programs for schools, parents and athletes.
