Job description

High School Occupational Therapist (Full-Time) Location

  • Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

About the Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at a boys' high school. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students develop the functional, sensory, motor, and executive functioning skills needed to succeed academically and independently. This is a full-time, school-based position that works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers.

Responsibilities

Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for high school students. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students' needs. Provide individual and small-group occupational therapy services. Support students in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory regulation, self-advocacy, executive functioning, and daily living skills. Collaborate with teachers and staff to recommend classroom accommodations and strategies that promote student success. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations. Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed. Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs in compliance with state and school requirements. Communicate effectively with families and school staff regarding student progress.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Current New York State Occupational Therapist license. NBCOT certification preferred. Experience working with adolescents in a school setting is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
