Maintain accurate attendance records, including monitoring bathroom breaks and transitions, and verify attendance through face-to-name verification. Communicate and document children's absences, injuries, and incidents following YMCA policies and procedures. Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage appropriate behavior; document and address inappropriate behavior using disciplinary protocols. Facilitate purposeful programming that supports academic growth and provides enrichment opportunities for children. Build relationships and foster a sense of belonging among children, parents, volunteers, staff, and school personnel. Ensure a nurturing and secure environment by reporting any suspicious activities that may endanger children or violate codes of conduct; maintain organization of supplies, cleanliness of facilities, and care for equipment. Promote a welcoming environment for all members, demonstrating SMART behavior as a role model. Educate members about YMCA services and initiatives, actively connecting them with YMCA offerings.

Physical
Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be able to stand, remain outdoors and maintain continual physical endurance for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, watch, listen and facilitate group activities.
Mental
Must be mentally alert and be able to process and follow directions.
Skills
Must be able to supervise and instruct large groups of children. Knowledge of sports and children's programming preferred.
