Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Yucaipa, CA! About the Role

As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Yucaipa, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Yucaipa, CA Schedule: 25 hours a month, 1 session a week for 1.5-hours Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children with Autism and supporting social-emotional development Strong background in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), relational coaching, or social skills instruction Skilled at teaching emotional regulation, friendship-building, and interpersonal communication Patient, empathetic, and able to build trusting relationships with young learners Experience supporting students with anxiety, stress tolerance, and emotional regulation challenges Comfortable facilitating role-playing, modeling, and structured social practice activities Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with families Creative and engaging, with the ability to incorporate student interests into lessons Able to create individualized, goal-oriented sessions focused on social and emotional growth Experience supporting students with executive functioning or communication differences is a plus Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one social-emotional learning (SEL) and relational coaching for a 2nd-grade student with Autism Teach emotional regulation strategies to help the student manage frustration, stress, and challenging emotions Support the development of friendship skills, including initiating conversations, maintaining peer relationships, and understanding different perspectives Help the student build confidence in expressing thoughts, feelings, and personal preferences appropriately Use role-playing, guided discussions, social stories, and interactive activities to reinforce social skills Incorporate language and communication strategies that strengthen everyday social interactions Develop engaging, individualized sessions based on the student's interests, including animals, natural disasters, cooking, and historical landmarks Reinforce problem-solving, flexibility, and resilience in a supportive learning environment Monitor progress toward social-emotional goals and adjust instruction as needed Maintain regular communication with the family regarding progress, strategies, and recommendations while complementing the student's existing academic tutoring Why Tutor Me Education?
