At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Long Beach, CA! About the Role

As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Long Beach, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Long Beach, CA Schedule: 6 hours per month Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Fluent in both English and Spanish (required) Teaching credential preferred; Special Education credential highly preferred Experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, and IEPs Strong background in teaching foundational literacy and foundational math skills Experience supporting students with significant behavioral challenges using positive behavior intervention strategies Skilled in providing structured, individualized instruction through visual, hands-on, and multisensory teaching methods Patient, calm, and confident in managing challenging behaviors while maintaining a positive learning environment Familiar with collaborating alongside Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Special Education services Able to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and families Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one instruction in foundational literacy and foundational math skills using individualized, evidence-based strategies Support early reading development through letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and pre-reading activities Reinforce foundational math concepts including number recognition, counting, number sense, and introductory addition and subtraction Develop engaging lessons that incorporate visual supports, hands-on activities, repetition, and multisensory instruction Prioritize instruction in telling time through interactive, concrete learning experiences aligned with the student's goals and interests Implement consistent behavior support strategies to encourage participation, minimize work refusal, and promote positive learning behaviors Establish predictable routines and provide frequent redirection to support engagement and emotional regulation Adapt instruction to align with the student's IEP goals and current academic abilities Monitor progress and modify instructional approaches based on student performance and responsiveness Create a supportive, encouraging learning environment that builds confidence, independence, and a love of learning Communicate effectively with the family regarding student progress and instructional strategies Why Tutor Me Education?
