Job description

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at LMU seeks a part-time faculty member in French for Fall 2026. We are looking for qualified part-time teachers of French who are enthusiastic and dedicated to working with students. Faculty must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one (1) or two (2) lower division in-person 4-unit courses in French.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in French required; Ph.D. or ABD preferred. Applicants must demonstrate teaching excellence at the college level and possess native/near native ability in French. Special Instructions: To apply, please include a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, two letters of recommendation (one from a teaching supervisor), complete sets of student teaching evaluations (quantitative and qualitative), a copy of the terminal degree transcript, and a short teaching sample video link (if available). Letters of recommendation must be submitted by the recommenders directly to Prof. Mónica Cabrera, Search Committee Chair at monica.cabrera@lmu.edu . Minimum salary is $2,657 per unit taught.
