Provides professional expertise in the fields of Nursing and School Health Serve as a multidisciplinary evaluation team (MET) member for students suspected of or confirmed to have disabilities Conduct health evaluations for students with IEP/MET Attend IEP/MET/504 meetings when applicable including, but not limited to Health Impairment, Orthopedic Impairment, TBI Train Unlicensed Assistive Personnel on clinical concepts including medication administration, first aid, and chronic illness management.
Delegate care appropriately to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and document competency validations.
Provide clinical oversight to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Delegate care and provide clinical oversight to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel during summer programs.
Deliver topic-specific training to school staff pertaining to student health Document health evaluations in the Student Information System Assist the campus Health Assistant with student health screenings and immunization record validation during the summer.
May serve as short-term backup health office staff in the event of a Health Assistant absence.
Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.

This position will report to the Associate Superintendent of Nevada.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Education, Licensure, or Certification Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) Current Registered Nurse licensure (RN) from the Nevada State Board of Nursing Current CPR/AED required First Aid Certification preferred Nevada Department of Education license with School Nurse Endorsement (or eligibility to receive it within one year of hire) 2+ years of School Health experience preferred Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: ● Strong interpersonal skills ● Independent, self-motivated, and self-directed ● Detailed, organized and timely in completion of work BACKGROUND CHECKS Nevada Employees: NV Fingerprint Background Check PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT ● Travel between campuses is required 20-60% of the time. ● Valid driver’s license in assigned state. ● This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion. ● This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration. ● Local and in-state travel required.
