Develop and implement therapeutic educational programs for students with medical complexities and intellectual disabilities. Manage IEP/IPP documentation and conduct evaluations while utilizing various teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in education and a current LBS-I teaching certificate. Candidates must have experience with students with complex medical needs and the physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

The Special Education Teacher develops and implements an effective and appropriate therapeutic, educational program designed to promote individual student's potential successes despite their medical complexities and intellectual disabilities.
Proficiency of various IEP software (currently using EMBRACE) Participates in team conferences, Individual Program Plan (IPP); Individual Education Plan (IEP); and Full Individual Evaluations (FIE) conferences; assists with preparation of initial and annual interdisciplinary conferences. Completes daily, monthly, and quarterly documentation on time Develops and implements educational programs consistent with the needs of the student using differentiation Uses a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs and learning styles of the student Maintains accurate records, including attendance. Plans, implements, and evaluates classroom activities. Makes recommendations regarding equipment, assistive technology, class modifications and accommodations and supply needs. Develops and implements appropriate curriculum per state and local guidelines. Assists in the planning of and participates in field trips. Must maintain current LBS-I teaching certificate.
Bachelor's degree in education is required LBS-I Certification required Experience working with students with complex medical needs and intellectual disabilities. Experience working with various socioeconomic populations is a plus. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
