The Assistant Teacher helps plan and implement daily activities for school-age child care programs. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, supervising children, and communicating effectively with parents and staff.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old and meet Wisconsin DCF licensing educational requirements. A background check, health physical, and CPR/AED certification are required.

Monday through Friday, before and after the school day. 6:00 -9:00 a.m. and/or 2:45 - 6:00 p.m.
Under the direction of the School Age Director, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for helping plan and implement the daily activities in the Child Care programs for the Kettle Moraine YMCA.
1. Follows the DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers, the YMCA Child Care Policies and the Orientation packet.
2. Assists Site Leads in carrying out the age appropriate curriculum.
3. Maintains a safe, orderly environment, which includes housekeeping duties.
4. Interacts with children at their level and provides supervision for a safe environment.
5. Assists in meal/snack preparation.
6. Reports any problems/concerns to the supervisor promptly.
7. Greets and communicates with parents, keeps all interactions positive and is sensitive to the feelings of children and parents.
8. Communicates appropriately with co-workers.
9. Builds and maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, volunteers, other staff, and the communities we serve.
10. Adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies within the Child Abuse Prevention handbook.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
