Key responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction: Design and deliver Honors-level courses in Honors English Literature, Composition, Rhetoric, and Critical Analysis using a flipped classroom model that emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, literary analysis, persuasive writing, and effective communication.
Student-Athlete Support: Differentiate instruction and assessments to accommodate demanding training and competition schedules while maintaining high academic standards and college-preparatory rigor.
Advisory & Progress Reporting: Serve as academic advisor to an assigned group of students. Monitor progress, provide guidance, and prepare weekly educational progress reports for parents to ensure transparency and support.
Inquiry & Skill Development: Plan and facilitate engaging, inquiry-driven lessons and projects that build strong literary analysis, persuasive writing, and effective communication skills aligned with Honors and college-preparatory expectations.
Flipped Classroom Facilitation: Create high-quality pre-class resources and lead dynamic, discussion-driven classroom sessions focused on application, analysis, and deeper understanding.
Community & Safeguarding: Contribute to the boarding school community, support school events, and uphold all child protection and safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education or relevant subject area (Mathematics, English, History, or related field)
