Unit: Athletics and Recreation
Under the direction of the Men's Hockey - Head Coach, the technical specialist will be expected to assist the head coach in the implementation of performance and development initiatives that will help ensure the success of the hockey student-athletes. Expected to assist head coach with other related functions. Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement plan for long term development of goalies, and/or video analysis after each game, goalie pre-scouts for opposition. Assist in the maintenance and distribution of on-field team equipment Record activities during a game and keeping track of statistics Analyses data and identifies trends of game/team/athlete activity/competency during game and post game and prepares reports to head coach Support coaching staff in the implementation of practice and game plans Support coaching staff with some administrative duties that may be required Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities NCCP Level II Certification (Hockey) or equivalent required Coaching experience at the elite and/or competitive level required Knowledge of or prior practical experience in the sport of hockey required Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic required. Bilingual in French and English ***Safe Sport and CCES Anti-doping training and coursework mandatory ***Selected candidates must successfully pass their criminal background check.
