About the Role

As a Toddler Teacher at Paragon Prep, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children ages 12–24 months can learn, grow, and thrive. This role leads all aspects of the toddler classroom, including curriculum implementation, classroom management, child development, family communication, and support of assistant teachers. You will be responsible for fostering each child’s curiosity, independence, confidence, and love of learning through meaningful relationships, purposeful routines, and developmentally appropriate experiences. The ideal candidate is warm, patient, organized, enthusiastic, and committed to providing exceptional care while supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development of young children. You will also: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging learning experiences aligned with the school’s curriculum. Create a warm, responsive classroom environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Observe, assess, and document children’s growth, developmental milestones, and daily progress. Adapt classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences to meet the individual needs of every child. Encourage independence through daily routines, self-help skills, and age-appropriate expectations. Lead and manage daily toddler classroom operations with consistency, compassion, and professionalism. Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment. Ensure classroom materials and learning centers are intentional, inviting, and reflective of current learning objectives. Model best practices in early childhood education and provide guidance to assistant teachers. Maintain compliance with all licensing regulations, school policies, safety procedures, and early childhood program expectations. Ensure children’s health, safety, and supervision at all times. Follow all licensing requirements, sanitation procedures, emergency protocols, and school health and safety guidelines. Maintain accurate attendance records, health records, incident documentation, and classroom records. Support toileting, diapering, meals, naps, transitions, and daily care routines with consistency, dignity, and compassion. Build trusting relationships with families through open, professional, and timely communication. Share children’s daily experiences, developmental milestones, classroom engagement, and progress with families. Participate in parent conferences, school events, staff meetings, coaching conversations, and professional development opportunities. Address family questions and concerns promptly and professionally. Collaborate positively with assistant teachers, fellow teachers, specialists, school leadership, and families to support each child’s success. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions. Remain receptive to feedback, coaching, and continuous professional growth. Contribute to a classroom culture where children are happy, engaged, supported, and making meaningful developmental progress. What We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required. CDA, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting required. Knowledge of toddler development, child development milestones, and developmentally appropriate practices for children ages 12–24 months. Strong classroom management, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to create a safe, joyful, organized, and intentional learning environment for young children. Ability to build strong, professional relationships with children, families, coworkers, assistant teachers, and school leadership. Warm, patient, enthusiastic, dependable, compassionate, and committed to maintaining high standards of care. Ability to take initiative, model professionalism, and support a collaborative teaching team. Commitment to coaching, professional development, and continuous growth. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day. Must meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks and required training. Must be able to work in person at the school campus. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
