Position Summary

Teaches English courses to Upper School (grades 9 to 12) students, collaborates with other members of the English Discipline to enhance teaching effectiveness, and to revise curriculum as needed. Reports to the Upper School head. This role is offered as one-year contract (August 2026 - June 2027).

All full-time teachers work as part of a teaching team to create an inquiry-based interdisciplinary program in which the academic disciplines are taught as systems and methods of thinking about significant content. Responsibilities include curriculum development, teaching, assessment, communication with parents, collaborative work with colleagues, and general engagement with the entire school.

Class size is limited to a maximum of 18, with several classes averaging 14 -16 students.

Credentials and Experience

  • Minimum of three years teaching in the discipline or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study

Compensation

Annual salary range for this role is $27,800 to $47,180 based on experience.
