Camp Counselor, Wildcat Hockey Camp (Adjunct)

• USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Camp Counselors will serve as mentors, role models, and support staff for young campers, ensuring a safe, fun, and positive environment on and off the ice.
• This role combines leadership, recreation, and supervision with a strong focus on youth development and teamwork.

• All UNH youth program staff shall be subject to a criminal background check as required by NH State Law.
• Staff and volunteers will also be required to complete periodic child safety training.
• Duties/Responsibilities Supervise a group of campers ages 6 to 13, ensuring their safety, well-being, and participation.
• Provide support during hockey training sessions, assisting coaches as needed.
• Lead or assist with off-ice activities such as team-building exercises, games, and meals.
• Foster a respectful, inclusive, and encouraging camp environment.
• Address minor behavioral issues and escalate larger concerns to senior staff.
• Ensure campers adhere to camp rules, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Build strong, positive relationships with campers while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings, training sessions, and debriefs.
• Provide first-level emotional support and be attentive to campers’ needs..

Preferred Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old. Prior experience working with children or in a camp setting is preferred. Knowledge of or interest in hockey is a strong asset. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and remain flexible in a dynamic environment.
