Job description

Early Head Start Teacher – Infant & Toddler Classroom (1- & 2-Year-Olds) Union County Community Action, Inc. Work Location- Monroe, Union County, NC www.uccainc.org/careers Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking caring and passionate early childhood educators to join our Early Head Start team. This position works with 1- and 2-year-old children in a nurturing classroom environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while building strong partnerships with families.

Starting Rate

  • Up to $18 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week)

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nurturing care and supervision for infants and toddlers
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and routines
  • Foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
  • Observe and assess children’s developmental progress
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s growth and daily activities
  • Conduct parent conferences and home visits as required
  • Collaborate with classroom staff and support specialists
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements

Qualifications

  • EHS Teacher- High School Diploma or GED & Infant/Toddler CDA credential
  • EHS Teacher I- AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
