• Respiratory Care Adjunct Faculty Adjunct Faculty appointments are located on Parkland College's Campus in Champaign, Illinois and have a salary range of $1,406.00 - 1,586.00 per Equated Contact Hour (ECH) commensurate with qualifications and experience.

• Functions: Performs professional duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the college. Provides classroom instruction in accordance with the stated philosophy, objectives, and established course outlines of the college. Informs students of course regulations, evaluation procedures, and other information pertinent to the course; prepares a course syllabus for each course and distributes it early in each term. Is available for student advising/mentoring. Maintains regular office hours to ensure availability for student consultation; provides assistance to students in a timely manner. Maintains accurate scholastic records of students; submits required reports on student progress according to published deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned by the department chair.

• Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or a related field. Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program. Current Illinois Respiratory Therapy license with current CPR certification.

• The
• DCE must: Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential. Have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care. Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs. Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program. Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act, and nationwide healthcare fraud and abuse scan. Must meet all clinical requirements including successfully completing a post offer, pre-employment clinical drug test. Proficiency in current computer technologies with the ability to learn the Parkland information system and new programs/systems as technology changes. Is current in all professional credentials required to teach in area of discipline; meet essential qualifications to teach lecture, lab, and clinical in the discipline. Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage professionally with a varied population of faculty, staff, students, and other members of the campus community.
