The Cardinals are the defending Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Champions, and coming off an NCAA semifinals appearance for the second time in five seasons. This position offers the chance to work alongside outstanding student-athletes and coaches while helping shape the future of a proud and nationally respected volleyball program. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function: Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes; support the head coach with all phases of the men's volleyball program.
Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes. Perform duties in all areas of the program at the direction of the head coach, Athletic Director, and/or sport supervisor. Develop, in conjunction with the head coach, planning of practice sessions and competitive coaching situations. Assess and evaluate talent and recruitment of athletes in to the program; includes contact by telephone and mail; off campus evaluations; on campus visits. Develop scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents. Make recommendations in regard to fund raising, promotion and marketing, special projects, clinics and camps. Monitor, in conjunction with the head coach, the academic progress, the conditioning, and the training of the student-athletes. Show commitment to and responsibility for adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference, the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and the NCAA; pass the NCAA certification examination on an annual basis. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree by date of employment. Successful competing and/or coaching experience. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy.
Master's degree. At least three years of collegiate coaching experience.
