Daily Substitute Nurse (EX)(2026-2027)-The School of the Cathedral, Baltimore MD

The School of the Cathedral is seeking qualified and dependable Daily Substitute School Nurses for the 2026–2027 academic school year. The Daily Substitute School Nurse provides temporary nursing services and health support to students and staff in the absence of the regular school nurse. This role is responsible for promoting student health and safety, administering medications, responding to medical emergencies, maintaining health records, and ensuring compliance with school policies and state health regulations.

The substitute nurse will work closely with administrators, faculty, students, families, and healthcare providers to maintain a safe and healthy school environment that supports student learning and well-being.

• Essential Functions
• Provide first aid, medical care, and emergency care services to students, faculty, and staff.
• Administer medications and treatments to students as ordered by students’ physicians.
• Assist in the collection and management of health forms.
• Create and maintain documentation of all encounters, assessments, and interventions.
• Serve as liaison between students, teachers and families in regards to health concerns.

• Position Qualifications
• Current Maryland RN license - BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Nursing experience in a high school setting.
• Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to quickly and competently assess medical situations and escalate as needed.

Pay Rate

$20.00, Hourly
