The 2nd Grade Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction that fosters academic excellence and character development. The teacher will create a structured, positive classroom environment that encourages students to become confident readers, writers, mathematicians, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
Plan and deliver engaging daily lessons in core subjects: English Language Arts Mathematics Science Social Studies Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all learners. Build strong foundational skills in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and mathematics. Incorporate hands-on learning experiences, technology, and project-based activities into instruction. Foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Maintain a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment. Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instruction. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to support student success. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and parent conferences. Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid Florida teaching certificate (preferred but not required) Previous elementary classroom teaching experience is preferred. Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies for elementary learners. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning community.
Experience teaching in a private or faith-based school. Experience with differentiated instruction and small-group teaching. Familiarity with project-based learning and STEM/STEAM integration.
