Mount Mary University invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor of English to teach first-year composition and related writing courses. The successful candidate will teach one or more sections of first-year writing as part of a cohorted model. Adjunct faculty are expected to provide high-quality instruction, maintain regular communication with students, assess student learning effectively, and collaborate with department faculty to support student success and the mission of Mount Mary University. Primary Responsibilities: · Provide high-quality instruction to students · Effectively assess student learning · Maintain regular communication with students using both email and Mount Mary University's LMS · Collaborate with department faculty to support student success and the mission of Mount Mary University · Participate in group assessment for the composition program Skills and Experience: · Familiarity with current composition pedagogy and student-centered pedagogy · Experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds, including first-generation college students, multilingual writers, and students from historically underrepresented communities · Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence · Experience and understanding of current issues and developments in higher education · Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
