Reports to: VP of Educational Programs

Salary/Flsa status: Non-Exempt/Part Time

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay is looking to hire dynamic part-time tutors in Pinellas County.
  • Tutors are responsible for providing children with educational support to ensure academic success.

Job responsibilities

  • The primary function of a tutor is to help students learn by reviewing content with club members, explaining how to solve problems, and check completed work. The ability to support students with diverse abilities is essential.
  • Tutors may also help students develop study skills and organization techniques to help improve their academic performance.
  • Tutors are responsible for supervising small groups of students, providing positive guidance, and serving as a role model.
  • Tutors must possess a passion for helping students learn and have the knowledge and ability to help students find new ways to look at complex grade relative skills and concepts.
  • Know and practice policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with Club Directors to support family involvement in student success.
  • Communicates and enforces organizational policies, procedures, and standards regarding program delivery, and quality. In collaboration with the Director of Literacy, provide administrative and logistical support for educational programs.
  • Support Project-Based Learning activities.
  • Attend and participate in professional learning opportunities and Education Team meetings.
  • Observe, record, and analyze student progress and use it to support further learning and development.
