We are currently seeking an EKT Family Engagement Facilitator to lead the family engagement component of the Early Kindergarten Transition program at Glenfair Elementary Community School. Position requires the ability to coordinate and facilitate groups of family members in a school setting. Position Title
Temporary EKT Family Engagement Facilitator To: SUN Site Manager Location: Glenfair Elementary School Position Dates: This position is temporary and will be completed in August, 2026. Training session for the position will occur in July, 2026 Class preparation will be the first week of August 2026 Family classes will be 8/10 – 8/13 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM Family Engagement Facilitator Hours: 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM General Description: Metropolitan Family Service position descriptions are guidelines. They are not intended to identify every task that an employee will be asked to complete. They are intended as a general outline of the essential work responsibilities and qualifications of the position. Under general supervision of the SUN Site Manager, EKT Kinder teachers and the school principal, the EKT Family Engagement Coordinator will facilitate the family engagement component of the Early Kindergarten Transition programs in Community Schools.

- Summary of
- Position: To create and implement the family engagement component of the Early Kindergarten Transition programs in Community Schools. This position welcomes new and returning Glenfair families with incoming Kindergarten students. The facilitator will share ideas and resources with families to help support learning at home. In addition, they will create an environment where families can connect with each other; meet school staff, learn about school culture and ask questions about the upcoming school year. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with designated partners in the schools
- Utilize best practices when conducting groups
- Maintain awareness of family needs and issues
- Attend training prior to facilitation start date
- Attend supervision meetings as needed
- Provide data and written reports as required or requested by supervisor
- Effectively and consistently market the organization, communicating about MFS and its programs in a way that is both compelling and on message.
- Comply with Metropolitan Family Service policies and procedures as outline in the Employee Handbook
- Other duties as assigned by SUN Site Manager, EKT Kinder Teachers and the School Principal
- Maintain positive working relationships with students, families, school staff, and custodians.
- Work within school and agency policies. Protect student and family confidentiality QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to demonstrate and utilize active listening skills and utilize problem solving and goal setting with participants
- Experience in facilitation of curriculums
- Demonstrated experience working in providing direct service to diverse clientele Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally able to work in the United States (documentation will be required for I-9 form)
- Experience with parenting education curriculums and/or facilitating groups
- Fluency and ability to communicate effectively in English
- Spanish speaking, reading and writing skills are a plus
- All employees must submit a criminal background check Hours: Training: TBD Prep: 4-8 hours the week of August 3rd Group Classes: 8/10/26 – 8/13/26 8:00 AM – 10:30 PM Term: SUMMER 2026 This position is for our Summer EKT Session. EKT classes are not held on Reynolds School District No-School Days. This position may have the opportunity for continued workshops during the 26-27 school year. EKT Family Engagement Facilitators are part-time, temporary employees of Metropolitan Family Service.
Compensation
