Job description

If you love working with young learners and want consistent tutoring work without the hassle of finding your own clients, managing billing, or coordinating schedules — this is the role for you. Tutor Doctor is a locally owned and operated tutoring service serving families in San Francisco. We match experienced tutors with K–5 students in their homes for one-on-one sessions. We handle all client matching, scheduling, and billing — you focus entirely on teaching.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one reading and math support for elementary students (K–5) in their homes Adapt instruction to each student's learning style and school curriculum Support homework, classwork, and long-term skill building Track student progress and share updates with families and our team Participate in paid onboarding and coaching sessions We're a locally owned and operated tutoring service placing experienced tutors with families across San Francisco and Marin County. Every tutor match is personally overseen by our owner — a credentialed educator with 20+ years in Bay Area schools. We take our tutors seriously, because when tutors thrive, students do too.

Requirements

Experience teaching or tutoring elementary-age students (K–5) — 2+ years preferred Strong grasp of foundational reading and math skills Patient, reliable, and great with young learners Bachelor's degree preferred — relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
