The Day Program Instructor provides active treatment and supervision to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to promote independence. They are responsible for implementing individual program plans and maintaining detailed progress documentation.
The Day Program Instructor is responsible for teaching and assisting in the development of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in the day program while allowing the individual to become as independent as possible. This position is responsible for the provision of active treatment while the individual is involved in day program activities.
Provides individuals with appropriate supervision and assures the safety of the individuals. Assures the protection of Individual Rights and assures that individuals are free from abuse, neglect, exploitation and mistreatment. Provides active treatment to individuals as prescribed in the individuals' individual program plan. Works toward ongoing quality improvement in all aspects of the position. Serves as a role model to individuals Keeps the Floor Operations Manager (OM) or Qualified Professional (QP) updated on status of individuals including any problems with their programming as well as any problems or concerns involving the overall day program. Assists individuals in the day program routine while allowing individuals to be as independent as possible. Provides appropriate documentation, including daily data and progress notes on specific individuals. Serves as a participant in the individuals’ Individual Program Plan meetings. The Day Program Instructor is responsible for providing information regarding the individuals and their goals and assisting in the development of new goals and modification of existing goals. Assists the individuals in developing and developing appropriate relationships with other individuals and staff of the day program. POSITION REQUIRES: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to work flexible hours and whatever location a need arises. Valid driver's license of at least 3 years' duration as well as 3 years clean driving record. Clean criminal background check. First shift available Full positions are available.
