The Site Assistant supports the Site Coordinator in implementing daily lessons and activities for K-5 students. They are responsible for ensuring student safety, managing behavior through positive reinforcement, and maintaining a structured learning environment.
We are looking for a dedicated and supportive K-5 After School Program Site Assistants at JFK, Discovery, Oscar Howe, Pettigrew, and Hayward Elementary School's for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year. The Site Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Site Coordinator in implementing daily lessons and activities. Assist with behavior management, using positive reinforcement and redirection strategies.Ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times. Help facilitate transitions between activities, ensuring the schedule runs smoothly.. Encourage participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all students.Help with classroom organization, setup, and cleanup to maintain a structured learning space.Communicate effectively with staff members to ensure smooth program operations.Model professionalism and enthusiasm, setting a positive example for students. Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting is preferred. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to assist in managing student behaviors and reinforcing positive expectations. Comfortable supporting field trip activities and ensuring child safety. Reliable, flexible, and able to step in where needed. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Schedule & Compensation: Works 2:00pm-6:00pm, Monday-Friday Starting at $14 for qualified candidatesPart-time
