The Academic Monitor is responsible for ensuring that students check in and out of the center, enforcing rules, and documenting incidents. They also maintain facility cleanliness and complete status reports at the end of shifts.

  • Make sure every student has checked-in when entering the
  • Center: Ask each student to sign in throught ARMS when entering the center and make sure they have checked out through ARMS when leaving the center.
  • Enforce the following rules: No food or drink allowed! (Secured-top water bottles acceptable) No loud music even with headphones. Cell phone conversations should be taken outside.
  • Incident
  • Reports: If a student-athlete is causing a disruption and has been warned several times about their behavior, please sign them out and ask them to leave. Document all incidents and email them to the Associate Director. At the end of each shift, please check facility cleanliness (wipe down tables, pick up any trash on floors, etc.). If you are closing, complete a status report noting observations and information related to printers and send to Associate Director. At closing, lock doors and turn out all lights. Periodically check paper supply and notify the Associate Director to obtain more.

Qualifications

Must have a 2.7 cumulative GPA or above Must be able to commit to at least 10 hours per week Morning, Evening, and Sunday availability preferred ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. Students must be actively enrolled at least part-time in courses for credit. For further information on eligibility please see the Student Employee Toolkit on One StThomas. Requirements

Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or above and be able to commit to at least 10 hours per week. Availability during mornings, evenings, and Sundays is preferred.
