About the role

Provide direct occupational therapy services to students individually or in groups and consult with teachers and school personnel. Maintain detailed case records and collaborate with a team to develop Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for scholars.

Expectations of a BVP Team Member include (but are not limited to)

If required for your role, you must provide evidence of proficiency or awareness in the knowledge and practices of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy through the completion of a RIDE approved program or Rhode Island educator preparation program.

In addition, a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will be expected to

Provide direct services to scholars as individuals and/or groups

Provide consultation to teachers

Consult and collaborate with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case and in establishing respective roles in the modification of the student’s program

Maintain sufficient case records and follow referral and tracking procedures

Maintain sufficient case records to meet state regulation requirements, document status as need, and provide staff with up-to-date management and assessment data when needed.

Serve as a member of a team that will develop an individual education program for each of the scholars enrolled.

Other such duties as required by the Special Education Administrator.

The pay rate for this position is $25/hour.
