TheraPeds Partners is seeking a school-based Occupational Therapist (OT) to support an elementary school in Newport, New Hampshire during the 2026–2027 school year.
This full-time, on-site opportunity is based at one school location, giving you the chance to build lasting relationships with students, staff, and families while helping children develop the skills they need to thrive in the classroom.
Full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week) 2026–2027 school year (August through May) On-site assignment One elementary school campus Serving students in PreK–5 Manageable caseloads Guaranteed paid hours, including treatment, documentation, planning, and administrative time Ongoing support from both the partnering district and TheraPeds Partners Primary Responsibilities In this role, you'll work collaboratively with educators and related service providers to help students maximize their participation in school activities through individualized occupational therapy services. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering direct occupational therapy services aligned with each student's educational goals Conducting evaluations and interpreting assessment findings to determine service recommendations Contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Managing an assigned caseload while maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports Consulting with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success across classroom environments Recommending strategies, accommodations, and therapeutic interventions that promote functional independence and classroom participation Monitoring student progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
Successful candidates will possess: Bachelor's, Master's, OTD, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution Current Occupational Therapist license NBCOT certification Department of Education licensure or certification, when required Experience working with pediatric or school-age populations preferred Strong knowledge of sensory integration, developmental milestones, and sensory-motor assessment and intervention Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills Comfort using technology for documentation and communication Successful completion of fingerprinting and required background screening Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality Physical Requirements School-based occupational therapists should be able to actively participate in a variety of educational settings. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, crawl, lift, reach, and physically engage with students during therapy sessions and classroom activities while meeting district safety expectations.
