About the role

The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities that foster spiritual and developmental growth in young children. They must maintain a safe, nurturing Christian environment and communicate effectively with parents and staff.

The Mother's day Out Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities for young children, ensuring their safety and well-being, and creating a nurturing environment that fosters learning and development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Encourage children's spiritual growth, emphasizing Christian values like love, kindness, and respect.
  • Teach Bible stories, songs, and prayer to young children.
  • Prepare materials and resources needed for lessons, crafts, and activities.
  • Maintain a positive, welcoming classroom environment that reflects Christian principles.
  • Assist children at lunchtime and serve afternoon snacks.
  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime, snack time and other activities.
  • Communicate with parents about their children's lessons, activities, and behavior.
  • Work closely with other MDO teacher, assistant, and MDO staff to ensure a consistent and supportive environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education/ Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 year experience in a teaching capacity.
  • Skills/Abilities
  • Capacity to adapt lesson plans and activities based on the individual needs and interests of the children and any unexpected changes or challenges that may arise.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and manage classroom routines, materials, and resources effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and understanding, especially in challenging situations, and to empathize with children's feeling and perspectives.

Requirements

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of teaching experience. A personal commitment to the Christian Faith and support for Israel is required.
