About the role

Provide classroom coverage across multiple age groups to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children. Support daily routines, follow lesson plans, and ensure proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained.

Pay rate will be $14.50 per hour This is an as-needed position (not a full time position) to fill in during staff absence, staff vacations, and in times of high client census. Work hours will be scheduled between 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday (on an as-needed basis) Easterseals Florida's Explorer Academy is seeking a reliable and flexible Substitute Teacher to provide classroom support when regular staff are absent. This role helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment while supporting children's learning and daily routines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED Experience working with young children preferred Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children & Families 45-hour Child Care Training in early childhood education Current CPR and First Aid certification Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs Positive, patient, and supportive interactions with children Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff Willingness to learn DCF standards, ASQ, Conscious Discipline, and developmentally appropriate practices Energetic, professional, flexible, and aligned with Easterseals' values Easterseals Florida has been rated a Great Place to Work (2020 – 2025) by our employees! Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of the Florida DCF 45-hour Child Care Training. Must hold current CPR and First Aid certifications and have a positive, patient approach to working with children.
