About the role

The Home Visitor creates mentoring relationships with families to prepare infants and toddlers for school through progress evaluation and parenting education. They are also responsible for conducting health screenings, tracking progress, and assisting with program recruitment.

Full time (40 hours), 12-Month Union Position LOCATION: Lyon County - Marshall, MN

As a Head Start Home Visitor, you'll spark curiosity, build school readiness, and empower families to support their child's success. Make a lasting impact - one child, one family, one community at a time!

What you'll do

  • Relationships: Observe and evaluate infant and toddler's progress to prepare the children for school
  • Facilitate

  • Partnerships: Working with families to set and reach their goals while providing parenting education.
  • Track
  • Progress: Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Encourage
  • Family
  • Involvement: Partner with parents to inspire active participation of the children.
  • Integrate
  • Wellness: Complete educational and health screenings, and rescreens, within the Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Promote the program: Assist with recruitment efforts to connect more families to the Head Start program.

Education and experience

  • Current Home Visiting CDA, OR
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Services or related degree.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or the willingness to obtain within 90 days).
