About the role

Coordinate comprehensive medical care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation for student-athletes while managing athletic training facility operations. Additionally, instruct one course per term within the Department of Kinesiology and supervise interns.

Associate Athletic Trainer / Instructor Department of Athletics / Department of Kinesiology St. Edward's University is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer / Instructor to join our Athletics Department and Kinesiology faculty. Working alongside the Head Athletic Trainer, you will coordinate comprehensive medical care for student-athletes-from injury prevention to rehabilitation-while teaching one course per term (3 contact hours) in the Department of Kinesiology.

Qualifications

Required: Master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or a related field. BOC Certified, Texas State Licensure (or eligibility), and CPR/AED/First Aid certified. 3–5 years of athletic training experience. Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules/best practices, EMR software proficiency, and excellent communication. Ability to work a flexible schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends, and team travel).

Preferred

2+ years of collegiate athletic training experience. Previous teaching or instructional experience. Experience supervising athletic training students or interns.

Responsibilities

Include: Supervise prevention, evaluation, treatment, short/long-term rehabilitation, and return-to-play decisions for assigned teams. Manage daily athletic training facility operations, coordinate pre-participation physicals, schedule physician referrals, and oversee NCAA drug testing compliance. Instruct 3 contact hours per term (fall and spring) in the Kinesiology Department. Supervise assistant athletic trainers and student interns, maintain confidential EMR records, and support departmental administration. Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or the Assistant AD for Internal Operations.
