About the role

The AOD Therapist provides screenings, assessments, and both individual and group therapy within a multi-disciplinary team. They are responsible for determining appropriate levels of care and providing psychoeducational support for students with substance use disorders.

The AOD Therapist works collaboratively in the Counseling Center and is a member of the multi-disciplinary AIRS team (Assessment, Intervention, and Recovery Services)within Campus Health. The clinician will be expected to provide screenings, assessments, individual short term- therapy, group therapy, psychoeducational groups, referrals, and assist in determining the appropriate level of care for treatment services.

A strong background and experience working in Addiction Treatment and with individuals who meet the criteria for a substance use disorder is needed. An ideal candidate that possesses addictions credential (LAC, CAC, or equivalent) is desired. A candidate that is knowledgeable of current trending issues on college campus’ is also preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling and be licensed or license-eligible in Louisiana. Preferred candidates have specialized addictions credentials (LAC, CAC) and experience working within a university counseling center.
