The Part-Time Interventionist is responsible for providing targeted academic interventions to students in kindergarten through fifth grade who require additional support in reading and/or mathematics. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, the RTI Coordinator, and school leadership, the Interventionist uses evidence-based instructional strategies and progress-monitoring tools to help students improve academic performance and achieve grade-level expectations. Provide small-group and one-on-one intervention services in reading and/or mathematics. Deliver research-based instructional interventions aligned with Tennessee Academic Standards and the school's curriculum. Assess student academic needs using screening, diagnostic, and progress-monitoring data. Develop and implement intervention plans based on student performance. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and outcomes. Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional support and monitor student growth. Participate in RTI (Response to Intervention) meetings and provide student progress updates. Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress as requested. Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment. Utilize educational technology and intervention programs to enhance student learning. Attend required staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with all FERPA requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or RTI Coordinator. QualificationsQualifications Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Valid Tennessee teaching license preferred. Reading, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related educational background preferred. Experience Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred. Experience providing academic intervention or tutoring in reading and/or mathematics preferred. Knowledge of RTI/MTSS frameworks is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of elementary literacy and mathematics instruction. Knowledge of intervention strategies and differentiated instruction. Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families. Proficiency with educational technology and student information systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the school day. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. May require movement between classrooms throughout the school day. Compensation Hourly rate commensurate with education, certification, and experience. Part-time position not to exceed 29 hours per week unless otherwise authorized.
