About the role

The Assistant Professor will teach a standard load of 24 credits per academic year, primarily supporting evening and weekend nursing programs. Responsibilities include delivering didactic and clinical instruction across undergraduate nursing courses while maintaining the university's mission of excellence and service.

Assistant Professor of Nursing, Tenure Track

Dominican University New York’s Division of Nursing seeks an outstanding candidate for a full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty position in our CCNE-accredited program. The standard teaching load is 24 credits per academic year.

This position will primarily support our Evening and Weekend nursing programs; however, the successful candidate may teach across undergraduate nursing programs, including traditional daytime courses, based on program needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility in teaching across a variety of formats and schedules, including day, evening, and weekend offerings.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • doctoral degree from an accredited college or university (exceptional candidates enrolled in a doctoral program may be considered)
  • teaching experience in Nursing higher education—didactic and/or clinical nursing course experience is preferred; nursing simulation and simulation-based education is also highly desirable
  • at least five (5) years of clinical experience
  • unencumbered current New York RN license
  • strong candidates will be versatile, committed educators who, consistent with the mission of the University, are committed to excellence, leadership, and service in an environment characterized by respect for the individual and concern for the community and its needs.
