About the role

The Teacher Assistant supports classroom instruction by assisting with lesson delivery, small-group activities, and student assessments. They also help maintain a safe, organized environment and collaborate with staff to support diverse learners and implement IEPs.

Position Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports classroom instruction and management by working closely with the lead teacher to promote a positive and engaging learning environment. This role includes supporting lesson delivery, working with small groups, and helping maintain an organized and safe classroom.

Key Responsibilities Provide individualized and small‑group support to students Assist with implementing lesson plans, projects, and assessments Monitor and document student progress and behavior Support implementation of IEPs and recommended interventions Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment Assist with classroom routines, transitions, lunch, and recess duties Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and staff Communicate positively with students, staff, and families Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to support diverse learners and adapt to classroom needs Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) required

Requirements
