The Newborn Hospitalist will provide nursery services and delivery attendance at multiple regional level 1 newborn nurseries. Additionally, the role involves participating in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and the education of medical students and residents.

The Department of Pediatrics at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), Quillen College of Medicine, and Medical Education Assistance Corporation (MEAC), in conjunction with Ballad Health seeks a qualified Newborn Pediatric Hospitalist to join a dynamic team of hospitalists.
This position will be an ETSU non-tenure, clinical track faculty appointment (contingent on external funding). Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will receive a full benefits package through ETSU.
include providing nursery services and delivery attendance at multiple Ballad Health level 1 newborn nurseries in the region, including but not limited to Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Indian Path Community Hospital, and Niswonger Children’s Hospital, the region’s primary pediatric inpatient site. Clinical coverage at Niswonger Children’s Hospital would also include potential daytime rounding on lower acuity level III NICU coverage. There is an opportunity for involvement with quality improvement, patient safety, and medical student and resident education.
