About the role

The Resident Support Assistant provides administrative support to the Medical Director, faculty, residents, and medical students at Kingsport Family Medicine. Responsibilities include managing projects, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring compliance with institutional and departmental policies.

This position is located at Kingsport Family Medicine.

Job Summary The Resident Information Research Tech reports to the Residency Coordinator and is responsible for providing administrative support to the Medical Director, Program Director, faculty, residents, medical students, and coordinators.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to be a team player.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to organize, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and independently monitor projects to successful completion.

Ability to accept responsibility and demonstrate discretion and good judgment.

Ability to provide excellent customer service (faculty members, residents, medical students, staff, departmental personnel, vendors, and visitors).

Ability to be a good role model for medical students and residents regarding organization and professionalism.

Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Ability to comply with HIPAA guidelines.

Ability to enter data accurately.

Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

Ability to solve problems and recommend solutions.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to effectively utilize computer software to accomplish duties, including programs for word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, resident application system, and resident/faculty system.

Ability to locate, understand, communicate, and comply with Tennessee Board of Regents, ETSU, and Family Medicine policies, guidelines, and procedures for all activities.

Ability to learn and efficiently assimilate new technologies, hardware, and software into daily functions.

Ability to electronically create, store, edit, and transmit documents and photos in portable document format (pdf).

Ability to gather and compile data for a variety of purposes.

  • Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of office experience in business and/or healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of residency software, electronic medical records and scheduling software.
