About the role

The Nursing Student Success Coach leads NCLEX-RN preparation efforts and identifies at-risk students to implement targeted academic remediation strategies. They also coordinate student success initiatives such as tutoring and peer mentoring while collaborating with faculty to enhance curriculum support.

Department School of Nursing Compensation $55,000.00 Annual General Description / Primary Purpose: The Nursing Student Success Coach leads efforts in NCLEX-RN preparation and identifies students at risk to implement targeted remediation strategies in collaboration with SON Director, Assistant Director, and faculty.

Job Functions: Student Support & Retention Provide individualized academic coaching and support to nursing students.

Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.

Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and support services to ensure comprehensive academic support.

Academic Monitoring & Intervention Identify students at risk at both the course and program levels using academic performance data and faculty input.

Track academic progression and maintain detailed records of at-risk students.

Design and implement individualized success and remediation plans in collaboration with faculty.

Conduct regular follow-up meetings with students to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.

NCLEX-RN Preparation Coordinate and implement NCLEX-RN preparation strategies, including workshops, practice exams, and review sessions.

Monitor student performance on standardized assessments and provide targeted support.

Program Development & Coordination Develop and coordinate student success offerings such as tutoring, academic workshops, and peer mentoring.

Analyze academic performance trends across the prelicensure program to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with faculty and administration to enhance curriculum and support services based on data-driven insights.

Other duties as assigned by Director of SON and/or other BCH leadership.

Marginal Functions: Special projects as assigned by Director of SON.

May provide back-up to other staff positions within SON.

Supervision Received: Reports to Director, School or Nursing.

Will perform independently, guided by written and/or verbal instructions.

General guidance and direction.

The incumbent establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work; contact between the employee and supervisor is limited in terms of frequency and matters covered.

Required Qualifications Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla.

This position requires an active and unencumbered RN or APRN License in FL.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Additionally, an active and unencumbered RN or APRN license in the state of Florida is required.
