About the Role

As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA Schedule: 10 hours per month, 1x for 1.25 hours Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (required) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or tutor with experience in speech, language, and communication development (preferred) Strong understanding of expressive and receptive language development Experience helping students improve articulation, functional communication, and emotional expression Patient, encouraging, and skilled at supporting students who become frustrated when communication is challenging Familiar with visual supports, modeling, prompting, and other communication-focused instructional strategies Able to create engaging, play-based, and interactive speech activities Strong rapport-building skills with young learners and families Comfortable collaborating with parents to reinforce communication strategies between sessions Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized support to strengthen speech, language, and communication skills Develop activities that improve expressive and receptive language, vocabulary, and conversational skills Help the student communicate wants, needs, thoughts, and emotions more effectively Incorporate play-based, interactive, and engaging strategies to encourage communication and participation Support emotional expression by teaching appropriate communication and self-advocacy skills Use modeling, repetition, visual supports, and structured practice to reinforce speech and language development Implement patient, positive behavior support strategies during moments of frustration or communication breakdown Reinforce foundational academic concepts, including letters, numbers, and early language skills, through communication-based activities Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet the student's evolving communication needs Foster a supportive learning environment that builds confidence, independence, and successful communication Why Tutor Me Education? Requirements

Requires experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a strong understanding of language development. A background as a Speech-Language Pathologist or similar experience in communication development is preferred.
