As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Huntington Park, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Huntington Park, CA Schedule: 25 hours, 3 sessions a week for 1.5 -2 hours Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Fluent in both English and Spanish (required) Experience supporting high school students with IEPs in general education settings Strong background in Geometry, English Language Arts, and Science instruction Skilled at teaching multi-step math concepts, reading comprehension, writing, and study strategies Experience helping students who are academically behind improve classroom performance and confidence Patient, encouraging, and able to build rapport with reserved or hesitant learners Strong understanding of executive functioning strategies, including organization, time management, and assignment planning Comfortable providing homework support, test preparation, and ongoing academic intervention Able to simplify complex concepts through step-by-step instruction, visual supports, and guided practice Strong lesson-planning and progress-monitoring skills Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one academic support in Geometry, including geometric relationships, angles, congruence, similarity, coordinate geometry, area, volume, and multi-step problem-solving Strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, literary analysis, essay writing, grammar, and evidence-based writing skills Support Science coursework by reinforcing academic vocabulary, scientific concepts, lab assignments, and assessment preparation Assist with homework completion, classroom assignments, quizzes, and test preparation across core academic subjects Teach executive functioning strategies, including organization, assignment tracking, time management, study skills, and task completion Break down complex concepts into manageable steps using visuals, guided practice, and repeated reinforcement Help close foundational learning gaps while reinforcing current classroom instruction Build the student's confidence by creating a supportive, structured, and encouraging learning environment Establish a positive relationship that encourages participation, communication, and academic independence Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on the student's evolving academic needs Why Tutor Me Education?
