Job Title: English Language Development Teacher
The ELD Teacher supports the district’s instructional program by identifying Multilingual Learners, developing tailored instruction aligned with state regulations and district standards, and delivering engaging lessons that promote both academic and social growth. The teacher fosters a learning environment that supports second language acquisition and cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities Identification & Assessment Identify students with limited English proficiency (LEP) using assessments, observation, registration forms, and staff referrals.
Administer and interpret standardized tests and informal diagnostics to evaluate student needs.
Instructional Planning & Delivery Develop instructional goals and objectives tailored to individual student needs.
Select and use appropriate instructional materials and media.
Deliver instruction in alignment with the district curriculum and English language development standards.
Adapt lessons for diverse learners across a range of developmental levels.
Classroom & Behavior Management Maintain classroom discipline to support active learning.
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
