About the role

The interpreter will provide high-quality sign language services for students and staff during lectures, meetings, and school events. They are also responsible for coordinating accommodation requests and ensuring all services comply with ADA and Section 504 regulations.

We’re seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) with school-based experience to support students at a respected educational facility in Snoqualmie, WA. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your interpreting skills in a collaborative and student-centered environment. You’ll play a key role in facilitating communication by interpreting educational and general content using American Sign Language (ASL) or other appropriate methods for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation services to students and staff
  • Interpret a variety of spoken content, including lectures, discussions, meetings, events, and announcements
  • Evaluate accommodation requests and coordinate interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Ensure all services are compliant with Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred)
  • Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) via BEI or RID
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
  • Valid BLS/CPR certification
  • Minimum of 6 months of recent experience within the last 5 years preferred
