About the role

The teacher will collaborate with the IEP team to design and implement individualized instructional plans for students with hearing loss. They will also provide direct instruction and support mainstream integration through consultation with general and special education staff.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join a dedicated educational team in , Florida. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your instructional skills while supporting students with hearing impairments in reaching their full potential. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing educational programs that meet the individualized needs of students with hearing loss. If you are fluent in ASL, have strong communication skills, and are committed to inclusive education, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the IEP team to assess student needs and design, implement, and monitor individualized instructional plans
  • Support mainstream integration by providing consultation and services to general and special education teachers
  • Deliver direct instruction in small group or individual settings in alignment with IEP goals
  • Develop and apply effective instructional strategies, materials, and techniques to support student learning
  • Maintain consistent communication with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive support system

Requirements

  • Active state licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or Manually Coded English
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 5 years
