About the role

Develop and implement individualized educational plans and classroom strategies for children ages 2-4 with special needs. Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school program in Smithfield, Virginia. This role focuses on working with children ages 2–4 years old, providing individualized educational support and developmental instruction in an early childhood setting. You will help create a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports students’ cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional growth. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans and classroom strategies for students with special needs
  • Provide developmentally appropriate instruction and support for children ages 2–4 years old
  • Foster a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Collaborate with families, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
  • Monitor student development and maintain accurate documentation of progress and classroom activities
  • Participate in meetings, evaluations, and educational planning as required by the program

Requirements

  • Must hold an Early Educator Certification (EEC)
  • Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood special education students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team
  • In-person candidates only
