Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team! You will be leading a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs.

You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm, caring and nurturing learning environment.
  • Learn, implement and follow the Highscope curriculum, Head Start Performance Standards, licensing rules etc.
  • Take COR (child Observation Record) notes to assess children's growth and development
  • Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
  • Create Lesson plans weekly
  • Keep a clean organized classroom
  • Conduct 2 home visits and 2 parent teacher conferences a year
  • Communicate with parents and other school personnel
  • Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones, etc

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Child Development (preferred)
  • Associates in Early Childhood with a compliance plan to complete Bachelors degree in Early Childhood.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
  • Problem-solving and mediation skills

Requirements

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Child Development, or an Associate's degree with a plan to complete a Bachelor's. Strong knowledge of child development principles, classroom safety, and excellent communication skills are required.
