OKMS is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Campus Safety & Facilities Coordinator to help ensure our two campuses remain secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for children, families, and staff. This is an unarmed role focused on visible presence, access control, emergency preparedness, and day-to-day facilities upkeep. The ideal candidate is calm, observant, and comfortable working around young children, with a service-oriented approach to campus safety. Key Responsibilities Campus Safety Monitor campus entrances and maintain secure access control procedures across both campuses Serve as a visible, friendly safety presence during arrival, dismissal, and school hours Support and help maintain emergency preparedness plans (fire, earthquake, lockdown drills) in coordination with school leadership Respond to safety concerns or incidents and escalate appropriately Maintain visitor check-in protocols and monitor campus grounds for hazards Assist with traffic and parking flow during drop-off and pick-up Facilities Perform routine facilities checks, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance across both campuses Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for repairs, deliveries, and larger maintenance projects Support setup and breakdown for school events and outdoor learning spaces Monitor and maintain playground, outdoor classroom, and shared-space equipment for safety Track facilities-related supplies and flag maintenance needs proactively Support ongoing campus renovation and recovery projects as needed
Valid California BSIS Guard Card required (or ability to obtain prior to start date); this is an unarmed position Prior experience in campus safety, facilities, security, or a related field; school setting preferred Basic facilities/maintenance skills (minor repairs, troubleshooting) Calm, clear communicator who works well with children, parents, and staff Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with a schedule spanning arrival through dismissal Ability to lift/move equipment and be on your feet for extended periods CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain) Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
