Louis.Job Summary St.

Margaret of Scotland Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and contribute to a nurturing, student-centered learning environment.

Working under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Teacher Assistant helps facilitate daily learning activities, supports student success, assists with classroom management, and promotes the mission and values of Catholic education.

Essential

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation.
  • Provide academic support to individual students and small groups.
  • Reinforce classroom lessons and learning objectives through guided practice and educational activities.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, organized, and productive classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and encourage appropriate student behavior.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other school functions as assigned.
  • Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, bulletin boards, and learning displays.
  • Assist with grading, recordkeeping, and other administrative tasks as directed.
  • Support student assessments and classroom projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and school information.
  • Collaborate professionally with teachers, staff, students, and parents.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Uphold and support the mission, philosophy, and values of St.
  • Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or classroom teacher.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or related setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for students.
  • Must successfully complete all required background screenings, safe environment training, and employment requirements.
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education.

Requirements
