Nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Bachelor of Social Work Program (BSW). The individual will have teaching, advising, course development, student mentoring, field-related support, and service responsibilities in the BSW program and across the School of Behavioral & Community Health.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate social work courses in an in-person BSW program with a generalist practice focus. The faculty member will be expected to teach an annual load of eight courses across the academic year. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in generalist social work practice, human behavior in the social environment, social welfare policy, research methods, diversity and social justice, ethics, field seminar, and other courses aligned with the BSW curriculum.
The faculty member will also support student preparation for field education through advising, field seminar instruction, collaboration with field faculty/staff, and participation in field-related assessment and student support activities. While this position is not a field director role, the successful candidate will contribute to field education as appropriate to the needs of the program.
in the School of Behavioral & Community Health and the College of Health are expected to collaborate across programs; participate in accreditation activities; contribute to interprofessional education initiatives; and assist in program and curriculum design, development, implementation, assessment, and administration. The successful candidate will participate in service to the BSW program, School of Behavioral & Community Health, College of Health, University, community partners, and the social work profession.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching in undergraduate social work education, particularly in face-to-face settings, and with the ability to teach across multiple areas of the generalist BSW curriculum.
